Die cutting is a creative way to draw attention to any marketing piece. Think of a cookie cutter creating different shapes through different shaped "dies." Die cut shapes can be either a unique contour of the outside of the piece, or can include unique "cut outs" on the the inside as well.
We used to outsource die cutting to commercial houses but the process was expensive and took too long to produce. So we decided to purchase our own die cutting press and bring the work in-house. We'd like to think that we've made die cutting in St. Louis an affordable way to produce one of a kind designs. Check out our portfolio of die cut samples in the gallery below.
Four steps in the Die Cut process
A template is created for the customer to "proof approve" to verify the die cut design.
Once approved, a steel rule die is created from the approved die line.
A die cutting press is loaded with the die and cuts the shape into each sheet individually.
The excess paper is removed or "scrapped" leaving the die cut piece.
